Parent Visa

There are multiple parent visas are provided by Immigration Australia which allows parents of Australian permanent resident, Citizen, or eligible New Zealand citizens to settled in Australia on permanent basis.

Following are kinds of Parent visa:

1. Contributory Parent visa
2. Non-Contributory parent visas
3. Sponsored Parent Temporary visa

1. Contributory parent visa includes following subclasses:
   a) Subclass 173 (temporary offshore visa)
   b) Subclass 143 (Permanent offshore visa)
   c) Subclass 864 (Permanent onshore visa)
   d) Subclass 884 (Onshore temporary visa)

1. Non-Contributory parent visa:
   a) Subclass 103 (Offshore permanent visa)
   b) Subclass 804 (Onshore permanent visa)
   c)Sponsored Parent Temporary (Subclass 870)

Contributory visas usually has higher second instalments but less waiting period.

Basic requirements for Parent visa other than Sponsored parent visa

1. To make an application for Aged Parent Visas the applicant must be of pension age.
2. To make an application for Parent Visas applicant may be of any age.
3. Must meet family Balance test.
4. Must pass medical and character test.

Sponsored Parent Temporary (Subclass 870) visa:

With this visa applicant can:

• reunite with children
• visit Australia for up to 3 or 5 years per visa
• re-apply for further Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visas to visit up to a maximum period of 10 years in Australia

You cannot work in Australia while you hold this visa.
